Flora spent her professional life working within the child welfare systems. During her impressive career, she worked at the Virginia Department of Social Services, the Norfolk Department of Human Services, and Norfolk State University. She became experienced in child protective services (CPS) investigations, provided training and certifications for foster parents, managed the Community Resource Adoptive and Foster Family Training (CRAFFT) grant, and was a certified Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education trainer until her retirement. While now retired from professional career, Flora has no intention to slow down in her lifelong efforts on to support vulnerable children. In addition to serving on the CWW Board, Flora also runs the Kindred Resource Network, a 501(3)C as charity that focuses on the quality of life and delivery of services to kinship families. Flora is a lifelong Hampton Roads resident, mother of three, grandmother of five and great grandmother of four.
